Speed and reliability of the PACS are essential for me to do my job well. Since our outpatient center converted to ProtonPACS, I have experienced a dramatic improvement in my ability to read my studies efficiently. The system is engineered with a radiologist’s needs in mind, and numerous steps that were previously cumbersome are now automated. The voice recognition system is far superior to the one I used with my prior PACS. All of us at the imaging center feel that the customer support for ProtonPACS is far more personal, professional and timely. I am extremely pleased with ProtonPACS.

ProtonPACS has really changed our approach to radiology interpretation. The system is remarkably easy to use and lightning fast. Prior to ProtonPACS, I had never used voice recognition, and of course I was highly skeptical that the system would improve my workflow. To my pleasant surprise, I was able to easily use the voice recognition from day one, and have been 100% voice recognition since inception. The integration of the dictation system within ProtonPACS is seamless and highly efficient. I am able to deliver my reports instantly, and I certainly don’t miss the need to sign a batch of transcribed reports at the end of a long day.

PROTONPACS IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO STREAMLINE YOUR WORKFLOW, GIVING YOU MORE TIME TO FOCUS ON YOUR PATIENTS AND YOUR PRACTICE.

ProtonPACS allows radiologists to accurately and rapidly review studies, create and approve reports and deliver the finished product to referring colleagues. We recognize that efficiency is increasingly important in Medical Imaging, and ProtonPACS is engineered to minimize mouse clicks and dictation time. Plus, the need for paper in your workflow is completely eliminated.

Of course when it comes to workflow, the reliability of ProtonPACS could be its most important advantage. It is uniquely engineered to eliminate downtime that is common with other PACS. With an on-site server supported by off-site infrastructure, ProtonPACS works even if your server is down or your Internet service is interrupted.

Workflow Management

Worklist profiles can be created using any combination of filters, any of which can be easily saved. You can sort your worklist by priority, date/time, study description or any number of other parameters. Saved filters are available at a click of a button, making it easy to manage workflow between locations or specialties.

Patient demographic data is automatically populated in your reports, eliminating the need to dictate this information. Patient clinical data, exam history and prior reports are all readily viewable within the worklist interface. Simply double click a study to load and you are ready to dictate. In addition, an unlimited number of cases can be simultaneously opened and dictated partially or completely, which means that you will never lose your progress when you are asked to consult on another patient.

Review of studies is equally efficient, as layout protocols that you easily customize are set for each modality, and relevant comparison studies and old reports are at your fingertips for side-by-side evaluation. Advanced tools assure that you can rapidly optimize images, change layouts, measure critical data points, save key images or presentation states, or perform reconstructions on the fly.

As your work day progresses, the worklist tracks your activity, providing tabs to rapidly view reports that you have signed or need to sign, and detailing the status of cases. Any reports you have completed are available on a tab, so when a referring physician calls to discuss a report you recently signed, you can easily recall the images and report. Everything is designed to make you a more efficient and productive radiologist.

Radiologist Reporting

In the past, speech recognition made the radiologist’s job more cumbersome. But that was before ProtonPACS. Our solution finally offers integrated speech recognition technology that makes you faster and more efficient.

It begins with superior speech engine software from MModal that delivers outstanding accuracy from day one without the need to train it to recognize individual voice and speech patterns. Then it only gets better, automatically learning from its mistakes.

A major ProtonPACS advantage: speech recognition is tightly integrated with the PACS. No manual setup is needed, and there is no need to launch the speech recognition engine it automatically opens and immediately ties your comments and reports to the images on your screen. It is truly impossible to dictate a report on the wrong patient the speech recognition software knows what images you are viewing and only allows you to dictate on that case.

If you open another viewer tab, you can dictate findings on that or any number of other cases. Plus, you are not required to complete cases before moving to another the speech engine knows what you are working on and seamlessly moves to that case. This capability is particularly helpful, for example, when you are asked to review and/or report an urgent case in the middle of another case. You can quickly change gears, and when you return to your original case, you simply pick back up wherever you left off.

The speech recognition platform is further engineered to increase your efficiency in other ways. Customized templates are created to your specifications, and normal studies can simply be approved with the reports already prefilled and automatically loaded based on the study description of the case at hand. Corrections are rapid and easy since you are viewing the reports and images in real-time, and corrections can be made via voice or routine mouse functions the choice is yours.

Overall, the system is surprisingly easy to learn and use. The result for the radiologist is faster workflow, more accurate reports (since your are reviewing them immediately upon completing the case) and the elimination of the tiresome need to check your queues for reports to sign. And the rapid delivery of reports greatly decreases turnaround time and transcription expenses.

Of course, traditional transcription services can be utilized. In such cases ProtonPACS automatically sends digital voice files to transcriptionists who in turn send back transcribed reports that appear on your signing worklist

PROTONPACS IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO STREAMLINE YOUR WORKFLOW, GIVING YOU MORE TIME TO FOCUS ON YOUR PATIENTS AND YOUR PRACTICE.

ProtonPACS allows radiologists to accurately and rapidly review studies, create and approve reports, and deliver the finished product to referring colleagues.

You can sort your worklist by priority, date/time, study description, or any number of other parameters.

You can quickly change gears and when you return to your original case, you simply pick back up wherever you left off.

The speech recognition platform is further engineered to increase your efficiency in other ways. Customized templates are created to your specifications, and normal studies can simply be approved with the reports already prefilled and automatically loaded based on the study description of the case at hand. Corrections are rapid and easy since you are viewing the reports and images in real-time, and corrections are made via voice or routine mouse functions the choice is yours.
